• The State Government has constituted the Karnataka State Wakf Foundation for Women Development vide Govt. Order No. RD 39 WGA 1991, dated 27.03.1992.

• The objective of the scheme is primarily aimed to promote the development of Muslim Women particularly in the field of Education, Self-Employment, and improvement of working conditions in Home/Cottage Industries like Readymade Garments., Handicrafts and Library etc. To provide financial and other aid to Institutions /NGO’S engaged in the Promotion and Development of Muslim Women. The Wakf Institutions/ NGO’s which have been registered under Societies Act and Muslim Girl Students /Women are eligible to avail the benefits of the Scheme.


• Presently, Medical Relief to Muslim Women and Girl Child Scheme is in existence in Karnataka State Wakf Foundation for Women Development. This programme is very popular in the State. Under this Scheme Medical Relief to Muslim Women and Girl Child to a maximum amount of Rs. 2.00 Lakh will be sanctioned and released to the Government Empanelled/Un-Empanelled Hospitals for treatment of major Diseases viz., Heart, Kidney, Cancer, Lungs, Liver, Nerve and Brain.


• Every Year the State Government is Sanctioning Grant in Aid to Karnataka State Wakf Foundation for Women Development for successful Implementation of this Scheme.
